It is with deepest sympathy that we wish to advise all members of Hartwell Motorcycle Club that we lost a true gentleman in Matt McMillan #121 at the recent event at Phillip Island.  Matt was a member of Hartwell Motorcycle Club and Preston Motorcycle Club, Matt was a great competitor who was currently 3rd in the 600 Hartwell Novice Championship and qualified in pole position for the weekend's racing.  The Hartwell Committee and it's Member's would like to pass on our condolences to Matt's family and friends in this time of loss.

Welcome to another round in the wet, is what greeted us on the Saturday morning and a nice welcoming for newcomers in the class – Doug Wood and Stephen Broklesby.  Hoping you enjoy the weekend and will continue improving successfully with your racing.  Saturday qualifier was on wets and it was very gingerly through the left with that river running across the track and then the race on slicks took some adjustment but Marro showed Glenn the way home with Scott a very close third and the rest of the field doing credible times.  Almost incident free day except for Josh losing the front in the left hander.

  1. Just a reminder to competitors - when you arrive report to the office first, with your race licence, you will then be issued with your scrutineer card and your transmitter slip.  (Sometimes Karen will be at the Friday practice so you can have the above done Friday, keep an eye out to see if she is there in the afternoon)
  2. Either take your slip and a $50 deposit (cash/cheque/credit card) to the timing counter and collect your transmitter, then correctly fit it to your bike. Or get your bike scrutineered first.
  3. Scrutineering – make sure you are prepared! Bring yourself and your bike up to the scrutineering area.  A long line will very quickly dissipate if all competitors do the right thing.  Wear your leathers with back protector, and your boots, take your helmet and gloves, bring your scrutineer card with you, remove your belly pans and before you come have a quick look to make sure everything is lockwired.  Check your rule books if you are unsure. You will be turned away if you do not comply and will then have to rejoin the queue.
  4. At the end of your racing for the weekend remember to return your transmitter
