How to obtain a Race Licence in Australia
You must be a financial member of a club to obtain a Licence, the licence form must be stamped and signed by the secretary of your club.

First Time Licence Test - If you are a senior (16 or above) and you are getting your licence for the first time, or it has been longer than 12 months since you last renewed your licence, you are required to complete the First Time Licence Test.
The First Time Licence Test is a 25 question, multiple-choice theory test. The test is contained in the Getting Started in Motorcycle Sport booklet. Click here to download the booklet and test. Alternatively, you can contact MV and we will post you a booklet in the mail. Each person who completes the Test is required to pay a one-off fee of $15.00. |

Senior National Licence – A Senior National Licence entitles you to compete in any competition permitted by Motorcycling Australia or Motorcycling Victoria. A Senior is classified as a person who is over the age of sixteen (16). If you are obtaining this licence for the first time you will need to complete the First Time Licence Test. Junior National Licence – A Junior National Licence entitles you to compete in any competition permitted by Motorcycling Australia or Motorcycling Victoria. A junior is classified as a person who is over the age of seven (7) and under the age of sixteen (16). If you are obtaining this licence for the first time you will need to complete the KickStart Program. Click here for more information. Senior Club Licence –
A Senior Club Licence entitles you to compete in any closed-to-club or interclub event conducted by your club and permitted by Motorcycling Australia or Motorcycling Victoria. A Senior is classified as a person who is over the age of sixteen (16). |

Junior Club Licence –
A Junior Club Licence entitles you to compete in any closed-to-club or interclub event conducted by your club and permitted by Motorcycling Australia or Motorcycling Victoria. A junior is classified as a person who is over the age of seven (7) and under the age of sixteen (16). |

Senior One Event Licence –
A Senior One Event National Licence entitles you to compete in an open Classic Motocross or Historic Road Race event permitted by Motorcycling Australia. A Senior is classified as a person who is over the age of sixteen (16). Please note: This is valid ONLY for national events. |

Recreational Licence –
A Recreation Licence entitles you to compete in any recreational (i.e. club ride day, practice day etc) event permitted by Motorcycling Australia or Motorcycling Victoria. A Recreation Licence is valid for those aged 16 or over. This licence is not valid for any competitive acticities. |
Other Types of Licences / Fees
One Day Recreational Licence – A One Day Recreational Licence entitles you to the same as a Recreational Licence, however is only valid for one (1) day and comes at a cost of $20.
One Event Licence* –A One Event Licence entitles you to compete in a club or interclub event permitted by Motorcycling Australia or Motorcycling Victoria. It is only valid for the duration of that event and comes at a cost of $45.
Come 'n' Try Licence – A Come 'n' Try Licence is available for clubs to provide to first time riders who attend Come 'n' Try Days conducted by the club. It is only valid for one day and is FREE of charge.
First Time Licence Test** – A First Time Licence Test must be completed by all Senior applicants prior to obtaining their licence for the first time. Also as per Rule 3.1.1.8 b) any licence applicant whose previous licence has expired for a period longer than one (1) year MUST re-sit the licence test. The First Time Licence Test comes at a cost of $15.
Rider Levy – A $11 Rider Levy applies each time a rider enters a Motorcycling Victoria permitted event.
