Former club member Eddie Lancaster (affectionately kown as Pugsley by his club mates) passed away at Regis Park home in Blackburn on June 11, 2012. Eddie commenced as a Junior in Hartwell Club riding in scrambles alongside his brother Bob at meetings all over the state. He rose to A grade status as he progressed during the next couple of years.
His greatest achievement was to win the Australian 125cc Championship at Wallan in September, 1972, riding a Lyall O'Brien Montesa. He was aged 26 at the time. As time went on he had many more victories and completed successfully along side greats such as Gary and Trevor Flood, Gary Adams, Gary O'Brien and Jack Pengally.
